Stress Conference

Kraków, October 2025

Dear Colleagues,

It’s been a long time since we last met, but after all these years we are coming back…

I am pleased to announce the continuation of the “Stress Conferences” series with the 12th International Conference “Plant Functioning Under Environmental Stress” which will take place from September 15 to September 18, 2026 in Kraków.

A lot has changed in the years that have gone by. In science, but also in our everyday lives. New challenges have emerged and new methods and approaches have been developed, yet some old problems remain unsolved. That’s why we want to meet, share and discuss a variety of points of view. As with previous meetings, we will focus on the various aspects of how plants respond to biotic and abiotic stress factors at different levels, starting with the plant as a whole and delving deeper into organs, tissues, and individual cells. The planned theme scope of the symposia includes: abiotic and biotic stress, climate change, food quality and the most recent methods in plants science.

Registration will open at the end of January 2026. Plenary lectures, oral presentations and poster presentations have been planned, and all abstracts will be published in the Conference Book of Abstracts, which will be released as a supplementary issue of the Acta Physiologiae Plantarum.

We encourage early-career graduate and PhD students to participate in the YOUNG Scientists Competition for the best oral and poster presentations. For more information you can follow the Conference Website at:

I hope that you will take this opportunity to renew old contacts and establish new areas of cooperation.
