Code of Ethics for Researchers

The Code refers to universal and good practices in scientific and research activities, specifying in particular:

1. Universal ethical principles and values in scientific work.
2. Good practices in scientific research, including principles regarding:
   • scientific data,
   • research procedures,
   • authorship and publishing,
   • opinion and peer responsibility,
   • developing young staff,
   • relations with society,
   • disclosing potential conflicts of interest.
3. The problem of dishonesty in scientific research, including:
   • fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, ghostwriting,
   • unreliable peer-review process and citation,
   • other types of research misconduct,
   • general procedure in case of research misconduct detection.

4. Authorship and institution responsibility.
5. Good practices in international collaboration (secure data sharing).
